This rough land has only conceded a minimum of living space to man, and to farm it, typical crops such as lavender, olives and truffles were adapted as well as bee-keeping, and dry-stone walls were built to contain them. When you come face to face with this scenery, you soon realize that it deserves respect. Cycling as your mode of transport is a choice which shows your good intentions; and those you meet along the way will appreciate you all the more for it… No need to keep your head down to the handlebars! Occasional or confirmed cycling enthusiasts, alone or with the family or friends, rise to the Lure cycling challenge!

The principle is simple: a timed and interesting ascent of the montagne de Lure, a symbolic mountain in Haute-Provence. Starting from Saint-Étienne les Orgues, this 18-km ascent with a height difference of 1000 m and a 5.8% average gradient is open to all. According to your athletic level and your ascension time, you will leave with a gold, silver or bronze diploma.
